Marine Research ~ Conservation ~ Education

Ocean Ecology Network is dedicated to marine research, conservation, and education around the world.

We promote science-based conservation and management strategies built on a deep understanding of conservation challenges and years of hands-on involvement in projects globally. We understand that conservation is a long-term effort and that small victories add up to save our precious marine world. Our philosophy incorporates science, wisdom, patience, hope, and compassion, resulting in a balanced, holistic, and realistic approach that integrates people into conservation solutions.

This film shows Ocean Ecology Network’s research and conservation efforts on the remote beaches of Papua, Indonesia to save the critically endangered Pacific leatherback sea turtle. Manjula Tiwari, guides us through her work, the work of scientists, and the challenges local and international communities face as they step up conservation efforts to protect the largest remaining aggregation of Pacific leatherbacks.
